Something in Common

.
Standing
(or floating)
by the river calm
with his son
and his daughter
their close space
edged by
a grainy darkness

they are pulling white paper
with graphite
words
on a scroll
smooth
as affection

                                          from the pool

fed
by    evaporation

                                                 or longing

bordered
by hot orange
crepe paper

Egairia is drawn
up from the

                                                   wisps

lying on the parchment
like a fish

          or a phrase

sharing something like
a sense of

                              water
a thin

                               leaf
.
