                                                    on Pahn’s bed as
                                                         Aiks snores in the next room

Egairia wants him
                                                    to kiss her

He presses his lips
against Egairia’s
                            but the connection is rough
                              and hard without liberty
  He doubts his role and his ability
                                                            to please her
absent of blessing…

…Meydhv and Pahn talk about strolling                                   
in the vineyards
together

Yaohwa disapproves      

he doesn’t think a man   
and a woman                       
should be alone together.

Meydhv is dismayed
                                                             (though not defiant)
She says

“I don’t think there is anything wrong with going
into the vines
                                  to feel the scent
                                                             of wisteria”
