Shelter

.Ahgreyeuss is following
clear
            dark water
                               over brown rock
He walks
astride a ridge of brown leaves
to a boggy place
of brown mud
and horsetails
                            Up from there
                         he finds cliffs
                                                      water scarps
which he studies    for a moment
                                        and then climbs
                                       over brown
                                               undulating
                                                            stone        lips

Here he sees
a brown man
                             who may be homeless
and follows after him—
he has gone past
and up
                         a draw of sharp
                         gravel

Ahgreyeuss returns
from the stone shelf
and the fall
to find his
colored room
and hanging bed
bright
dark blue and red
Plaid bedspread

Ahgreyeuss is walking     in bay    and oak
climbing through        a woodland
and rock-land
          sharp dry-lands
red      gravel

He finds water coming
over the gravel
                                        falling

from a rock in streaks and stain

Circumambulating
the standing spire
as if it were on a map

climbing it
               he discovers a gravelly cave

There is a man
He has a map
             He sits in his cave

He is surprised to find Ahgreyeuss
and leaves his stuff
in order to leave again

This mouth
his blankets

his bed
his clothes
he
has to go back     go back
          again
