In fitful sleep
looking
                                                           into the damp haze
                                                                  at a distance
dim
Pahn watches his body
                                                              with Egairia’s
blurred image copulating
                                                                              and thinks

it is a sad desperation
                         to couple before
                                                              she is physically
absent

but she
in her intention to fly has left
already her memory
a transparency
                                                              lit from the undefined space
behind them                                  

dry and
                                              without sensation
